In-Home Organizing Services in Omaha, NE

If you’ve ever wished someone would just come to your house and “fix” the clutter for you…

Well, not FOR you,  but WITH you —  then I’m your person. I’ll guide you every step of the way, give you permission to let things go (without guilt!), actually get the donations out, and set things up in the easiest possible way. Overwhelm is over.

If you’ve been meaning to “get organized” for ages but haven’t done it yet, I’ve got you.

It’s easy to put it off (and off, and off) and tell yourself it’s not that bad…until it really, really is, and suddenly you feel like you can’t breathe in your own home.

But every time you try to tackle the pack-rat closet, you get too overwhelmed to even begin (or you lose steam mid-project and now the room looks like a tornado hit and you’re most definitely already out of energy).

If this is you, let me assure you: it doesn’t feel impossible because it actually is impossible. It’s not! You just need the right support, and an extra set of (compassionate) hands.

We might not have *officially* met yet, but let me promise you:

If there wasn’t so much stuff in your home, you wouldn’t be so stressed (or so busy!).

You might actually get to read a book or take a walk. And your kids would pick up their own toys (most of the time).

I’ve helped thousands of clients set up ADHD friendly homes, and I’ll let you in on a secret — it’s not about more complicated systems, it’s about having less to manage and fewer steps to utilizing any given item. That’s why my major focus is on decluttering and streamlining systems — so your home becomes crazy easy, and you have more time for the important things in life.

Empty hangers are neatly arranged on a bed after an in-home organizing and decluttering session in Omaha, NE.

“Melissa is worth her fee time and time again. She exceeded my hopes and expectations with her laidback but efficient and productive style! We got so much more done than I’d hoped. My favorite part is that other than deciding what to keep, she makes all the other decisions as to how to store/organize/etc while asking for input into what would make sense for our family.”

How in-person organizing sessions work

Step One
Set Intentions

We’ll begin by talking through what you want more of in your life, what you’re going to do with your extra time, and how you want to feel at home. This clear intention will infuse the process with positivity and give you motivation to see it through.

Step Two
Decluttering + Organizing, Area by Area

If you know where you want to start, that’s what we’ll do! If you aren’t sure, I’ll tour your home with you and suggest some good places to begin based on your situation and my experience.

Then, we’ll start in one area. I’ll work side by side with you to efficiently declutter your space and help you decide which items to keep and which to release. We’ll sort what remains, and talk through how you use your items. Then, I’ll organize everything you’re keeping in a way that makes sense for you and your lifestyle. If you want some organizing products, I’ll measure, make suggestions, and get your approval. Then, I’ll buy, install, and label everything so that you have a completely organized, functional space that is easy to maintain!

Step Three
Donation Drop-off

Every in-person session includes one SUV-load full of donation drop-off after we finish, so that you immediately have your space back and can see the benefits of our work that day. I take it after our session ends (it does NOT count toward your package hours). It’s one less thing on your to do list, and it’s included in every session. If you have additional specialty disposal needs (such as hazardous waste or paper that needs to be shredded), I offer those for a small additional fee.

Do not — I repeat, do not — underestimate the power of an extra set of hands.

And a non-judgemental human who has done this in hundreds of homes (with a big ol’ SUV ready to drop off donations). I’ll work side by side with you to move the physical stuff, and talk through all things mindset, emotions, and benefits of living with less while we work.
